Shropshire Turf’s Peat Free Compost is certified to the British Standard and is environmentally friendly. Made locally and delivered throughout Shropshire in both loose deliveries and bulk bags.
Our Peat Free Compost makes an ideal soil improver and mulching product. When used as a soil improver (mixed with topsoil) it can help to establish turf, plant beds or plant trees and shrubs. The compost will improve soil structure, and water retention and increase the soil nutrient reserves. This will encourage r0ot growth and help your plants to withstand stresses like drought, insects and disease.
As a mulching product, it will help to conserve soil moisture and suppress those pesky weeds. This will reduce your watering requirement and improve drought tolerance. If you have sandy soil this can be particularly beneficial.
Made from a mixture of organic material. The process includes filtering, shredding and periodic turning while being kept at a regulated temperature. The process takes up to 12 weeks which sterilises and ensures the improvement of porosity and oxygen content of the compost. Before it is delivered to you, it is passed through a screening to remove any stones, plastic or other unwanted items.
We also have some other composts to which you might want to compare this to. For help with this check out our blog Choosing The Right Compost For You.
Please note this is a naturally occurring product, the colour and texture may differ due to various locations it is sourced from.
